FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas senior forward Sonny Weems had 39 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the Razorbacks’ victories over Mississippi State and Florida to earn SEC player of the week honors. Weems, who shot 51. 7 percent from the field (15 of 29 ), including 57. 1 percent on three-point attempts (8 of 14 ) in the two games, is the first Razorback to win the SEC honor this season. Arkansas Coach John Pelphrey said Weems “has been playing like an allleague player that we thought he had a chance to be” for the past several games On the season, Weems is averaging 14. 5 points and 4. 6 rebounds.
