UP NEXT Arkansas vs. No. 9 Vanderbilt WHEN 6 p. m. Central Friday WHERE Hawkins Field in Nashville, Tenn. WHO’S HOT Centenary first baseman Cameron Penney went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI on Wednesday to raise his batting average to. 387. WHO’S NOT Andy Wilkins, Tim Smalling and Aaron Murphree, the Nos. 3, 4, 5 batters in the Razorbacks’ order Wednesday, went a combined 0 for 9. Chase Leavitt replaced Murphree in the fifth spot and struck out twice in as many at-bats. SHORT HOPS Arkansas Coach Dave Van Horn said he expects senior Jeff Nutt back perhaps for this weekend’s series at Vanderbilt, but probably not in Friday’s opener with lefthander Mike Minor scheduled to pitch. Nutt, who bats left-handed and hit. 274 with 41 RBI in 2007, has been sidelined with an arm injury. He’ll probably get plenty of playing time at catcher. Ryan Cisterna started the first 24 games there and has done a good job defensively but is hitting just. 164.... Van Horn expects Cliff Springston to be the Razorbacks’ starting pitcher for Friday’s opener at Vanderbilt, and will likely go with Kendall Korbal on Saturday with Sunday to be determined.... A foul line drive hit by Arkansas ’ Brett Eibner in the first inning shattered a window in a Baum Stadium suite on the first base side.
