QB checks out Razorbacks

Published: Sunday, April 27, 2008 PRINT E-MAIL

FAYETTEVILLE — City College of San Francisco quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was in attendance at Arkansas’ Red-White game.

Masoli, 6-0, 200, helped lead CCSF to the junior college national championship as a freshman last fall and is eligible to transfer immediately because he was a full academic qualifier out of high school.

Masoli visited Oregon last weekend and has reportedly been on the Auburn campus.

A graduate of Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., the same school that produced New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Masoli completed 258 of 421 passes for 3, 592 yards and 30 touchdowns last fall. He also rushed for 448 yards and 11 touchdowns, giving him 4, 040 yards of total offense.

The Razorbacks have four quarterbacks on scholarship, though transfer Ryan Mallett’s eligibility for next fall is still in question, and two signees are scheduled to arrive in the fall, Tyler Wilson of Greenwood and Jim Youngblood of Camden Fairview.
