WHAT Alabama vs. Arkansas WHEN 2: 05 p.m. Central today WHERE Baum Stadium, Fayetteville RADIO Arkansas Razorback Baseball Network, which includes KFAY-AM, 1030, in Fayetteville, KURM-AM, 790, in Springdale / Rogers, KWBF-FM, 101. 1, in Little Rock, KHGG-FM, 103. 1, in Fort Smith and KOMT-FM, 107. 5, in Mountain Home PITCHING MATCHUP Alabama: Austin Hyatt (RHP, 3-3, 4. 87 ERA ); Arkansas: Justin Wells (RHP, 3-0, 4. 97 ). Hyatt is 1-3 with a 6. 35 ERA in SEC play. Wells is 3-0 in conference play, but he’s allowed 17 earned runs in his past four outings and sports a 5. 23 ERA. SHORT HOPS Razorbacks left fielder Casey Coon, who was lost for almost a month after making an awkward dive back into second base and spraining his ankle at Missouri State on April 1, had another base-running incident but was unhurt in the third inning Friday. After Brett Eibner flied out to deep center for the second out, Coon was on second, tagged up, reached third, took a wide turn and considered trying to score. But he stumbled, then tried to lunge back toward the base and was thrown out to end a two-run rally.... Baseball America reported Friday that Arkansas pitching recruit Colby Shreve of College of Southern Nevada will undergo ligament replacement surgery on his throwing elbow after it appeared he wouldn’t need an operation. Shreve, expected to be a high pick in next month’s draft, will likely see his draft status plummet and attend Arkansas, but his 2009 season is in jeopardy.
