Second UA game on pay-per-view

Published: Friday, August 29, 2008 PRINT E-MAIL

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ game against Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 6 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock will be broadcast on a pay-perview basis, the Arkansas athletic department announced Thursday.

The broadcast will be the first pay-per-view offering for the Razorbacks since their 1999 season opener against SMU in Dallas, and their first at home since the Tennessee game in 1995.

The game is available only through cable systems in Arkansas and Louisiana, per SEC television regulations, and will be online at www.arkansasrazorbacks.com (under RazorVision ) to Arkansas and Louisiana residents. The pay-per-view price is $ 34. 99.

The game might be available outside Arkansas and Louisiana through ESPN GamePlan if it is selected for the national pay-perview package next week. Cable and satellite customers should contact their provider for more information.

“As we near a sellout in Little Rock, we wanted to give fans that are not able to attend the game the opportunity to watch Bobby Petrino’s first game in Little Rock as the Razorbacks ’ head coach,” Athletic Director Jeff Long said in a release. “We appreciate the cable systems working with us to provide live television coverage of Razorback football throughout the state and in Louisiana.” Former Arkansas quarterback Clint Stoerner will handle the color commentary, with KATV’s Scott Inman on the play-by-play. Another former Hogs quarterback, Quinn Grovey, will do the sideline reporting for the TV broadcast and the radio network coverage.
