3 in double digits give Arkansas the victory over Oral Roberts

— Arkansas guard Gary Ervin scored 16 points to lead the Razorbacks to a 62-51 win over Oral Roberts on Saturday.

In all, three Arkansas players - Ervin, Darian Townes and Patrick Beverley - scored double digits for the Razorbacks, who have now won four straight games.

Arkansas (6-1) used a 16-2 run midway through the second half to help it overcome a slow start against the Golden Eagles.

During that scoring run, Townes played a big part with his aggressive play, driving to the basket and coming away with two slam dunks.

Townes scored 14 points and had a team-high four blocks against the Golden Eagles. Oral Roberts (4-3) began the game with a 10-0 run, which included two 3-pointers from senior guard Moses Ehambe.

The Golden Eagles, who built a 10-point lead twice in the game, forced 13 turnovers - eight in the first half alone - but shot just 37.5 percent from the floor overall.

Leading Oral Roberts on offense was Robert Jarvis with 18 points.

Arkansas took its first lead when forward Michael Washington made a long jumper from the top of the key, giving the Razorbacks a 37-36 lead with 12:50 left in the game.

Minutes later, Washington made a 3-pointer from almost the same spot.

Sonny Weems, Arkansas' third-leading scorer this season, was suspended indefinitely prior to Saturday's game for academic reasons, coach John Pelphrey said.
