Good article, Wally. Could it be possible Mallet is wanting to leave to beat the NFL's rookie salary cap next year? Anyone know any details about the cap? I don't follow the NFL as close.

I would particularly like to remind Mr. Mallet of a couple of pretty good quarterbacks in the NFL who are brothers (as much as I hate to admit it), both of whom played for programs that I loathe, that stayed 4 years and have done pretty well.

Mallett would be a flop if he left this year. Plus he would be a second or third round pick right now. He wouldn't get anywhere close to the type of money he would get if he were top five in the draft. People have to stop talking about him going pro, that type of stuff will start to go to his head and he'll make a monumental blunder.

Ryan Mallett should stay in school and fully enjoy the college experience. He should also make the most of his opportunity to develop as a quarterback under Bobby Petrino and Garrick McGee.
As with the Manning boys, there will be plenty of time to make plenty of money. The media speculation is really getting tiresome and old, however.

If he thought Alabama's defense was tough, wait till he gets to the NFL! It's not too difficult to run up the stats on Eastern Michigan but he still has not proven himself against the "big boys." I am from Texarkana and very proud to have a young man from my home town succeed and I genuinely wish him the best. I just think he needs to come back at least next year and let Coach Petrino prepare him more.
