Ward Worries Coaches

— Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino and offensive coordinator Paul Petrino have said they are a little worried about South Carolina defensive backs coach Lorenzo Ward.

After all, Ward coached at Arkansas last season before leaving for a position on Steve Spurrier’s staff. He had an up-front look at Arkansas’ offense and its personnel.

“That’s something that concerns us,” Petrino said. “How much he really knows about our offense and what we do.”

The Razorbacks will fi nd out if it matters Saturday, when South Carolina tries to slow the Hogs. The Gamecocks’ defense, which is coached by one-time Arkansas defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson, ranks 16th in the nation in total defense (294.7 yards a game) and are third against the pass (141.3).
