Arkansas, being a rural state with a relatively small population, doesn't get too many Division 1A athletes. But, what I can't understand is why are so many choosing other universities and bypassing Arkansas? Are Arkansas coaches not recruiting as hard, could it be that our overall program has fallen on hard times or is it something I'm not seeing/hearing? To me, it is an embarrassment not to be able to keep our own kids in state!

Possibly he chose Auburn for several reasons.
Those reasons being Ronnie Wingo, Knile Davis, Dennis Johnson, D'anthony Curtis, Broderick Green.

The Hogs are loaded at running back. Some people don't like competition. It would be great if he came to Arkansas but he made the best decision for himself.

Many of the yards felix Jones and DMac gained while at Arkansas, were because of the offensive Gus Malzan put together. Dyer will fit in great with their offense. He also wants to be an every down back, which he will not get in the Petrino system. I believe he will be an outstanding college back at Auburn and wish him luck.

Good luck Micheal. I also believe that the timing was bad. If he could have finished high school in 2008, we would have had him instead of Wingo or Davis. He made the right decision even though I am a little disppointed with it. As someone said before, I hope he has a good career except when he plays us.

There is more going on than just avoiding the competion. Great running backs like MD thrive on making it to the top of the pack. Arkansas has changed its direction when it comes to the way the game is played. Pass first then run but passing is how most teams win the game Arkansas included. Gus Malzan has got some influence in Arkansas just like Nutt, and loud mouth Tuberville. Petrino will get most of the top D1 players from Arkansas but will also get some from the other states as well.
