I am a big Pel fan and really think he is going to eventually get this thing "right"....and I understand why we play zone right now with a depleted lineup....but what I have an issue with is the offense that Pel runs (or doesn't run)...Rotnei should be getting a minimum of two picks every time down the court...can you imagine how good he would be if he had a wide open shot??? Come on Pel---wake up and play some fundamental basketball!!!

Have to give a depleted and mostly inexperienced Hog unit some credit for hanging with a ranked and very deep major program for as long as they did Tuesday night. This game just gives the Hogs some "conditioning" for conference games later.

We never should have hired a former Kentucky player.

This is official notice that the campaign to fire Pelphrey and hire Sidney Moncrief has started. If you are a Hog fan, then you should join.

Repeat after me- We want Moncrief! We want Moncrief!

Under Pelphrey, just like with Stan Heath, the Razorbacks do not run any noticeable offensive sets. Last night, Louisville was clearly not a very good team, but they were running evident offensive schemes, like the dribble drive penetration and then kick it out to an open man on the wing for uncontested three point shots. Louisville ran that repeatedly and it worked every time.

Also, we need a coach who can put his players in the right mindset. How come our players are criminals and hoodlums? No way would Roy Williams, Coach K, Bill Self, etc. allow his players to be in situations where they can get in big trouble and have the inevitable suspensions.

Arkansas is a big time program, and if the coach cannot stress that enough to his players then we need someone who can.

Of course, Mike Anderson should have been coaching the team ever since Nolan left.

You are speaking only for yourself, razorjack. Read the discussions under the "recruiting guy" above involving last night's game. The vast majority of fans are 100% behind John Pelphrey.

The suspended players are the ones you need to be ranting and venting about. They either need to grow up and get with the program or leave it.

I agree dwp007 BUT Pel has a responsibilty to put his players in the best position to score----he is doing nothing for RC...everything RC gets, he gets on his own! If he isn't going to get screens defenses will eventually shut him down...or at least make him a non-factor...

Commenting during the game, Bob Knight echoed what i was saying all last season - Arkansas should run screens for Rotnei Clarke. For some reason Pelphrey does not have the big guys setting picks for Rotnei.

Remember Pat Bradley? Without Derek Hood setting picks for him time after time, he would not have been successful at Arkansas.

At first I fully agreed with the color analyst [Wally Hall's favorite ex-coach ;-)] when he said Rotnei needed multiple screens, as many have echoed above. But Rotnei would have to be running constantly from one side of the three-point line to the other, and he doesn't have time for a good blow with our current numbers. With the ensuing fatigue his perfect form would begin to slip, and his shooting percentage would soon follow.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Anthony Borden? What happened to Andre Clark, did he leave school?

Watching the game, when we had the ball you could actually hear the Louisville players, "Clarke, Clarke." I think we could have ran screens until we were blue in the face, and it would not have mattered. Rotnei was NOT going to be open....... That is why Pel went with an alternative game plan, unfortunately it was lethargic..... That Stan Heath comment hurt, although I have to admit I was thinking the same thing watching the game. No designed plays, except for when we came out of the half.
