— Arkansas scored 14 runs in the first inning in a record-setting, 32-8 victory against Saint Louis in seven innings Wednesday at Baum Stadium.

The Razorbacks (23-6) hit four home runs and accumulated 30 hits as the teams combined to set an Arkansas school record for runs in a game (40), shattering the 37-run record set in 1984 against Southwest Baptist.

"The first inning was incredible," Arkansas Coach Dave Van Horn said. "We just had guys have tremendous at-bats."

Arkansas' 14 runs in the first inning was also a school record for runs scored in an inning. The Razorbacks sent 18 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first, which lasted 40 minutes.

The game ended after Saint Louis (15-15) batted in the seventh inning. Before the game, the coaches and umpire discussed ending the game after seven innings if a team had a lead of 10 runs or more, Van Horn said.

Fifteen players went to the plate for Arkansas and each reached base. Bo Bigham, who hit his first home run of the season, went 4 for 7 with 4 RBIs.

The school record for runs in a game by Arkansas is 33.
