Brady, Pelphrey land on wrong side of APR mark

Arkansas State Coach John Brady, whose basketball team is losing a scholarship because of a below-average Academic Progress Rate, thinks the numbers can be misleading.

The NCAA released annual Academic Progress Rate scores for coaches for the first time Thursday, and the numbers aren’t good for Arkansas basketball Coach John Pelphrey and Arkansas State basketball Coach John Brady.

Arkansas began the first day of fall camp with a familiar face returning to the field without a hobble in his step — quarterback Ryan Mallett. The junior and Coach Bobby Petrino discuss the first practice of the 2010 season.
