Mallett named to Walter Camp watch list

— Ryan Mallett was one of 30 players selected Monday to the initial watch list for the Walter Camp award, which is given to the nation's best player at the end of the season.

The Arkansas quarterback was one of four SEC players on the list, which was led by defending Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram of Alabama.

Mallett has already been named to the preseason watch lists for the Davey O'Brien Award and Manning Award.

The Walter Camp watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in early November. The award is voted on by 120 head coaches and sports information directors. The winner will be announced Dec. 9.
