Arkansas guard Jeff Peterson returned to the court this summer for a 10-day tour of Europe with the East Coast All-Stars, a group of 10 collegiate players.
Peterson, who sat out the 2009-10 season due to NCAA transfer rules after joining the Razorbacks from Iowa, played in five games for the All-Star team, averaging eight points, more than two rebounds and nearly seven assists per game. The 10-man team from the United States finished 1-4 for the tour which included stops in Switzerland and France.
“It felt great to get back on the court in real game situations,” Peterson said. “I felt a little rusty at the beginning but felt that I was able to get back into game shape quickly. I am really looking forward to the start of this season, my first with the Razorbacks.”
The All-Stars opened their tour in Freiburg, Switzerland, against the Swiss National Team for a two game set before traveling to Paris, France, for three contests. Peterson and company played a club team in Paris first before taking on the Tunisian National Team two times. Peterson’s best game on the tour came against the Tunisian, who are scheduled to play the U.S. National Team on Sept. 2, when he scored 12 points and dished eight assists.
