LIKE IT IS: SEC power would put 13-0 Hogs in BCS

Lots of e-mails received Wednesday, mostly about Cap-Gate, but one asked a very interesting question: If the Arkansas Razorbacks go undefeated is there a chance they would not play for the BCS championship because they are ranked so low to open the season?

Wally,as much as I would like to believe you this time, the question posed by the reader is a grave concern. Arkansas is not loved by the national media, not even the SEC media. Remember Capgate. Arkansas' worst nightmaire: Texas, Ohio State, and Arkansas all go undefeated. Guess who gets left out? Remember, the computer rankings can no longer be used to pair the National Championship game. No one in the media wants Arkansas in the National championship game. It's all about money.

Wally, you want to worry about 13-0 ark getting to BCS championship game? How about worrying about getting hit by a meteor on the way home, or deciding on how to spend the lottery money you haven't won yet, you know, something alot more possible than ark going undefeated. Ark barely beat EAST CAROLINA in the LIBERTY BOWL, and wouldn't have if ECU had a decent jr high school kicker. And ark is going to jump from that to national champs? Man, the koolaid must have really been tasty today. Maybe we should start worrying if the basketball team will get a No. 1 seed in NCAA tournament if they go undefeated. Ark will get killed by Alabama, anyone who watched that game last year will know that. Well, everyone except Wally. Do I think ark can be better than last year? Yeah, that is attainable, especially with the embarrassingly weak non-conf schedule and not having to play Florida or Tenn this year. But ark will have their hands full with road games at Georgia, Auburn, S. Carolina, and home games with Ole Miss and LSU. I think a 10 win season is possible. And a 13-0 season might be possible in the future under Petrino, but it sure won't happen this year.

Odd that folks would actually start whining about Arkansas not being invited to play for a national championship prior to the start of the season. A LOSER's mentatlity. There's alot of games to be played. Can't we go into the season without acting like the cards are always stacked against us.

haha,, you people have no idea.... Seriously, you have no idea how good Arkansas is going to be this year. This is the best Arkansas team going into this year I have ever seen. And as for you rlw59,,,, "Ark will get killed by Alabama" ,,, what exactly do you mean by that??? What kind of points would you give someone if you are so sure. It is true that Alabama will be one of the toughest if not the toughest game we will play but this years team is not last years team. GET READY! Get ready to eat those words. I cant wait...

I have noticed that the better our team gets, the more haters come crawling out to post negative comments about the Hawgs (online as well as radio talk shows) ....... this is a good thing, because the haters know (like the rest of us) that the Hawgs will be better.....undefeated, who knows....their reason for hating the Razorbacks.....who knows.....Nutt holdovers that can't accept change or just people that have no favorite or home team....and probably have not a clue about the game and the passion of the Razorback fan base. What ever happens, the whole state has been drawn back together, it feels great, hope is alive and well, and the haters ......well being alone, and miserable filled with hatred is a just desert for them, meanwhile the rest of the Razorback Nation is in Hog Heaven and its a great feeling !!!!!

The Razorbacks must take one game at a time, from first to last. With Bobby Petrino at the controls, I believe they will. Biggest SEC game of the season, to date: Georgia.

Relax rlw59 (I hate negative people that think they are realists). Last year is over and this one has not yet began. Who knows how good we will be. There are alot of outside powers that like the direction we are heading and the expectations are high. We probably have the #1 offense in America along with a defense that will definitely be better (not to mention our players are much better conditioned). I for one like all of the articles with hypothetical greatness. Beats the hey we suck stories.
