In less than two weeks, college football will have started, and the memories of this horrific heat and humidity will start to fade.

Gee Wally.... thanks for the confidence.
My guess is we win at least 10. Go Hogs Go!

Seems to me that a 9-3 record (while very good) is a bit at odds with the things I've been reading about the caliber of this team. Something seems misaligned. Also, the predictions of Georgia's record should be 3 losses vs. 2 by my count of the information in the narrative.

IF PETRINO USES HIS RUNNING GAME MORE THIS SEASON, THE RAZORBACKS WILL WIN AT LEAST 10 GAMES.

The SEC is brutal and I would certainly enjoy spanking UT in Dallas, though beating Florida [on a neutral site] would even be better.

If the Razorbacks can get by Georgia in Athens, they can put it on the Tide in Fayetteville.

One game at a time, regardless.

The most important thing Wally said in his article was in the title.

"Arkansas" closes the gap. That's because of the hard work by Petrino and crew...BCS bowl in future years yes.

...I remember two years ago that was Petrino's first year. We were not really competitive in the SEC back then with our level of talent left by HDN. Now Petrino's closing the gap...we're on our way.

I've been waiting for someone to come up with the profound thought for the early part of the season and dwp's got it. The Georgia game in Athens will be dangerous. They're good. And, if we look past that game towards Alabama, we stand to lose against Georgia. Then again, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised (although I would be extremely disappointed if we took it on the chin against the dogs) that if we lost to Georgia, we'd be so ticked off that we'd come out the following week and open a can of whup a-- on the tide.

Here's hoping we take both games and give all the prognosticators at ESPN and the rest of the biased college football world a difficult time to find words to express the situation.

UA college football is about the excitement of the student body and players toward the competition (SEC in this case) where anything can happen.

With this article, I see Wally going further away from "rooting for the hogs" to being too worldly and ESPN'ish - In my opinion, he acts as if he would like to write for the biased SEC instead of our hogs (like Arkansas sports writers ALWAYS did in the "good old days!"). Maybe he's starting to lose it...

I think Wall's prediction is realistic even if on our hearts conservative side. Nobody ,not even the Tide will make it through this season & get to the SEC championship on tallent alone. It will take on the spot coaching decisions, & a little luk along the way. We all know the big games that are ahead for this potentially great Razorback team. What we have to do is take one game at a time. Any team in the SEC is capable of beating another SEC on any given Saturday. Its the SEC. Don't look ahead & the most imporatnt game ever is the next game on the schedule.

I agree with ua87 that dwp007 noted something important for fans.....(TAKE IT ONE GAME AT A TIME). Good advice dwp007.

Enjoy each week's game on it's own. That's weekly excitement until December. Pulling for our boys to win...but still rooting for them every week, whether they win or lose.

I like what I am hearing from you fans, even if Wally seems not quite with the positive program. The pre-season feeling I get is that the team, as a whole, is ready to play as a team. All of the players are saying that they don't care about the potential individual awards, that they just want to play as a team to win. I hope that thinking carries throughout this hard season and that they are up for the tasks ahead. I have tickets to the Alabama game, and I just hope we win that game for sure because it's a long road home back to Louisiana!! BELIEVE!
