Nice to hear a bit about the closed scrimmage, but even better was Petrino's comment, “Coach Hatfield, we’re going to get a punt return for a touchdown for you this year.” With Long's tendency to separate from Broyles' legacy, it's good to remember that Razorback footabll is a tradition to be respected and remembered.

Scary thing is, this was probably our first team defense. Good and bad.

transcendentalhog, I haven't seen as much of what you're calling Long's tendency to separate from the Broyles' legacy. Most times when I hear him speak, he's quick to mention Broyles and his history. At the 2nd annual football kickoff luncheon in Springdale, he made every effort to acknowledge Broyles and talk about Razorback tradition.

My two cents. :)

I heard from some "inside the university" and journalistic sources that Broyles' pictures and some other memorabilia were taken down when Long was hired. Perhaps my sources had a bias or Long has become more comfortable now that he's guiding the Hog ship. Hope so.
