fortson doesn't know the meaning of "team". i'm so tired of hearing the announcers speak so highly of him, he's selfish, turnover prone, and makes very poor decisions, as in last nights "three" attempt with a couple minutes left. am i the only one who thinks knobles is the way to go at the guard position? what a display of quick hands, great defense, AND he passes the ball.

NO STABOR, YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE...I'M BEGINNING TO WONDER WHY "MR BASKETBALL" FROM MONTGOMERY, AL IS NOT PLAYING FOR ALABAMA....MAYBE THEY KNEW SOMETHING WE'RE JUST FINDING OUT...

I felt Nobles played a much better game than Fortson did last night. He was pressuring the ball, didn't have turn-overs and really played a full game. I don't know where the best 3 point shooter in the SEC was, but he wasn't at the game last night.

Not Fortson's fault....that is his game the fault lies with the coaching staff for not putting Knobles in more often.

I am so happy I didn't get to see this game. 1 of 12 threes????? I bet Clarke only short 3 or 4 of them. I am a supporter of coach Pel, but it is fading at the speed of light. It is his job to reel Fortson in & demand he play as a college point guard, not an assphalt court ball hog. Ball hog appears to be the only pride Fortson takes in being a Hog. He loves the highlight reel. Totally unacceptable season from mid-January til the end.I am so frustrated and embarrassed on how this team plays I COULD JUST SPIT!The talent is their, but there is no trust & belief within this team. We can't even run a half court play to effectively get Clarke open. Most of his shots is him creating on his own & the other guards think they shoot better than him. Maybe Pel is just not ready for the task in front of him. I think he has done an exceptional job off the court with this team. Hard nosed old school discipline. However, on the court he continuously gets out coached, and his high basket I.Q. point guard plays out of control game after game. Nobbles is a better team player than Fortson. I could go on & on but I won't. At this point starting over again might be what is needed, but who in their right mind that has a history winning back ground and running a clean program is going to come here? Yet the worst problems are still off the court with graduation rates. I sure hope Fortson's classroom IQ is better than his basketball IQ.

It seems we have gone from the frying pan(Heath) to the fire(Pelphrey). We have no consistancy as a program.. Call me crazy but I really believe that Billy Gillispie would be a good fit at Ark. The KY limelight was to bright but I think Fayetteville is and would be a good fit.

By far the most important part of this well written article is the 6'9" stature you credit to Dr. Counce. He was always listed at 6'7" on the rosters of yesteryear. Given the BB world's penchant for always inflating the players heights I would bet big money Counce is only 6'7" unless he grew an unlikely 2 inches after his very repectable BB career.

Agree with the consensus on Fortson. A true point guard should never be jacking up many of his so-called selected shots and consistently not finding more open [and gifted] shooters.

A true hotdog on the other hand... well, pass the mustard, please.

It is rediculous that a basketball team shows no improvment in a long season.Pel has no rhyme or reason with the subbing of players and the way he manages the game. Why did Britt and nobles not shoot more after the way they played against vandy.Every game is a new nonsense strategy. Its impossible to develop into a team that way.Welcome to 40 minutes of who knows whats next.

Wow...Arkansas basketball is a joke. From 1977 to 2001, the razorbacks made the tournament 22 times. Sweet 16, 11 times. Elite 8, 6 times. 4 Final 4s and a National championship. From 1990 to 1996, the hogs won more NCAA tournament games than anyone...ANYONE. Now we can't make the second round of a weak SEC tournament. WE NEED A REAL COACH, not a nice guy wishing he could coach. There is no reasonable argument for keeping Pel.
