I love it. As a resident of Mississippi's largest city (Memphis) my only regret is that it is not printed in the Memphis "Comical" Appeal.

To paraphrase a videotape recently seen on Nutt: "We just want them [NCAA] to do the right thing. We're [Nutt, Ole Miss] in the helping business."
Hehe.. right dude. You and Ole Miss tried to do the "right thing" by flagrantly circumventing an NCAA rule to "help" you and Ole Miss win a few more ballgames.
Please.

Houston Nutt in response to the decision said, "The NCAA comes at you so fast, it just messes you up!"

This is a grey area where the NCAA could make any decision they deem proper. The player having to stay in school two years to compete is a chance for him to grow up and test his commitment to stay out of trouble and will probably help him on the field.

Masoli appears to be a "punk" with few, if any, redeeming qualities, except for his ability to throw a football. I, frankly, feel it's quite dubious as to Coach Nutt's reasons for giving poor ole Masoli a third/fourth/fifth chance to prove he's a pro quarterback. Trashy and disgusting, Mr. Nutt.... trashy and disgustging.

Come on guys! Don't let your feelings about Coach Nutt cloud your judgement. The fact is, the NCAA is dead wrong in this decision. Under NCAA Rules, he can transfer and play immediately. We all know why Masoli went to Ole Miss, but the fact remains he followed the rules laid out by the NCAA.

Hey fly,
Do you need a history lesson? Name me ONE quarterback during Nutt's tenure at Arkansas that either improved his skills enough to attract NFL attention at that position or has had an enduring career in the NFL. Don't say Matt Jones. We all know he was here today gone tomorrow. Oh yes, Tarvarius Jackson went to the Vikings. But, I recall he had to transfer out in order to find a program where he would see proper playing time to attract NFL scouts.
Now you think Masoli should have had a chance at Ole Miss? Given Nutt's propensity to squander QB talent (uh, lets ask Jevan Snead if his talents were fully utilized), I think the NCAA did Masoli a favor.
One thing is for sure, this was purely a desparate attempt for Nutt to make up for his serious recruiting and coaching weaknesses and it backfired. Nutt passed on Mallett and chose Mustain. Yeah, that worked out well. I for one think Arkansas is now the University of Quarterbacks in the SEC. Petrino has SOLID talent behind Mallett waiting in the wings. Our future has never been brighter in contrast to stormy skies in Oxford.

Follow up to my original post: Clint Stoerner did get drafted by the Cowboys but never saw starting playing time beyond a couple of games.
McFadden and F. Jones are the jewels of the Nutt era and certainly will have great NFL careers. But, they were recruited by the only Nutt with any class and character, Danny.
