WELCOME TO THE SEC MOMENT My freshman year, my first scout team play against Jonathan Luigs. He punched me in my chest so hard I couldn’t breathe. I was like, ‘Oh, he’s an SEC starter. That’s why.’ FAVORITE MEAL Hot wings and water.

NO VEGETABLES? No, I’m not going to lie.

DESSERT ON TOP OF THAT? No, just hot wings, dip it in ranch, and water to cool it off.

HOBBIES Reading and sleeping.

BEST BOOKS My favorite author is Mildred D. Taylor and my favorite book is Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry. But she has a series of books and that’s one in the series.

HARDEST HIT YOU’VE EVER DELIVERED Second scrimmage of the spring, when I hit little Dennis [Johnson]. It was bad.Stopped him in his tracks. He never got hit like that before.

HARDEST HIT YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED Tennessee Tech, the 15-yard late hit by the running back, No. 1, on the sideline. He decleated me, off my feet FUNNIEST TEAMMATE Jason Peacock. The stuff he says. He grew up in Georgia. He’s from Georgia. Then he went off to [junior college] and he became a different person. He’s got both sides of the country.

MOST INSPIRATIONAL PEOPLE I want to say my mom [Jeanette Johnson], my dad [Alfred Davis Sr.] and my grandmother [Laura Davis] because they know me the best.

FAVORITE MUSIC Rap, usually underground rap from Atlanta. It’s like a whole bunch of 17-year-olds. It’s kind of cool, actually.

CAN’T MISS TV Swamp People. Yeah, alligators.

FUNNIEST SUMMER MEMORY First time we had rock breaking, we realized that the rock this year was bigger than the one from last year. We were all blown away, wondering, ‘How are we going to break this thing down?’ They went and found it somewhere. It was huge. The old rock was half a foot thick. The one we’ve got now was up to your waist.

FAVORITE PRO ATHLETES Kobe, LeBron, [Jordan] Taylor, the softball pitcher from Michigan. She’s the pitcher for the USA team. I like her. She’s real mean and aggressive when she throws that thing. Football, I would have to go with Ray Lewis.
