UA warns football fans to avoid counterfeit tickets

— The University of Arkansas is warning Razorback fans to be cautious about purchasing counterfeit tickets or parking passes as the season opener approaches.

Fans can visit the UA Athletic Ticket Office on Razorback Road between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during the week or the ticket office at Gate 1 four hours before kickoff to ensure they have authentic tickets, the university said in a news release.

“UAPD is committed to assisting the UA Athletic Department in investigating any individuals or groups creating, misusing, or presenting counterfeit parking passes or tickets,” UA Police Department Capt. Kathryn Huddler said in the release. “An unsuspecting fan could lose the money given for the fake ticket and/or parking pass and miss the game. It is better to ensure the authenticity of tickets and parking passes by making purchases through official channels.”

Anyone attempting to enter the stadium with a fake ticket will be denied access and may be subject to an investigation, officials said.

The Razorbacks begin their season Saturday in Fayetteville against Missouri State.
