Can't get much sweeter than this.

I read a few minutes ago that if we beat LSU it could easily still be LSU vs Alabama in the natl championship game. Not even the BCS is that sorry and classless and worthless are they?

Great game Hogs. Man we are good!!!!

Go Hogs.

Arkansas always seems to peak during November. They played up to the pre-season billing on both sides of the ball and overall, they had an excellent game. LSU is stacked with young men of the caliber of the best of MSU's players, so it will be a much tougher game. If Arkansas hands LSU a loss on the road, that should count for a lot of "style points" - hopefully enough to vault the hogs above either Alabama or LSU. But, I've not seen that scenario even mentioned by all of the "experts".

This article had a seemingly contradictory statement. "There will be no second tiered bowl..." vs. "at best, they will get a BCS bowl or the Capital One or the Cotton Bowl." Aren't the two latter bowls considered "second tier" bowls?

Chew on this, Razorback Nation. Just now, on ESPN SporsCenter, Robert Smith said Alabama should be #2...I agree. When Bob Ley asked him who was #2B
, he said "I guess you kinda have to give it to Virginia Tech by default. Their only loss was to Clemson." Really? Seriously? Unreal.

The Hawgs will win this game...LSU has a great defense, but these Hawgs are peaking at the right time on offense, defense and most important, special teams...tonight, they should be the BCS No. 3 team...that's striking distance if I've ever seen it for the big prize for this university...look at all those teams that went down yesterday and last Friday...all were favored...again, any given Saturday (in this case Friday), anything can happen...LSU has not faced an offense like this and that does mean something to the psyche; because, the Hawgs have faced a defense like theirs and if not for a breakdown on several play, the game would have been more competitive…but they took their lumps and have rebounded well...and now with the defense playing real Hawg Ball (and no one calling for the D’s head), they will beat LSU...point blank...the Hawgs know how to win in Baton Rouge...they've done it before with less...and the landscape is set up for the Hawgs to run the table…I keep reminding all that I’ve seen this run before with my Colts the year they won the Super Bowl…it’s lining up the same way…the smart folks are going to put their money on LSU based on the Bama game…and that’s how the Colts snuck up to beat all the favorites…in the playoffs, they had faced offenses and defenses just like some of the teams they had lost to in the regular season…they knew how to execute against them and had answers for everything…when the Hawgs beat another set of Tigers, those smarter than us are going to act surprised…because when they refuse to look at history, i.e., being beat down by big bad Bama, calling for the DC’s head, losing your All-SEC tailback, barely beating Vandy and T A&M, etc, all in one season, do you think they remember the Colts and how they went through turmoil that year? No different now when your team has dealt with injuries, a beat down, lucky wins and now peaking…that’s a championship run if I’ve ever seen one…I've got my itinerary set for the BCS championship game in New Orleans...I'll be there supporting our Hawgs...Arkansas 33 LSU 20...

That Robert Smith comment is just another example of how we continue to get overlooked in this whole thing! Nobody is giving us any chance but the fact of the matter is this: we have 17 seniors who as freshman beat them in little rock, as sophs we lost by 3 and could have won if not for a missed Tejada FG, and won by 8 as juniors last year against an lsu team that was in the title hunt then!!! My point is, these guys have been in this big game 3 times and WON'T be intimidated by them AND - we have Petrino!
According to everyone else we have no shot to beat them and I love it - just keep overlooking us I say. The pressure falls squarely on them so let's go play some football and may the best team win!

I agree with ya DAFUTURE33 - we are peeking at the right time in all phases of the game and with Petrino and our 17 seniors we will be ready to go to battle!

If we can stay steady and calm through the first quarter and survive the early frenzy then we will settle in and play ball!

In Petrino we trust!

This team seems to have a very special chemistry, if not destiny. Winning in Baton Rouge is always difficult, but the [road] Hogs have bought into their coach's work ethic and tough mindset.

Regardless of what happens on Friday, the Razorbacks have made for a very exciting and fun football season.

I would love to see about 92,000 silenced in death valley, however. Bring on Tigger.

The wagons have been circled since the Bama game. No need to un-circle wagons now and put down our arms. The nation loves to see Arkansas fail. Most outside of the state like to think they are from a better place and Arkansas is one place that they feel they are better than. If you are not loaded with State pride and the accomplishment of this team you should be. They based the CBP hiring for a reason, they have ignored the Razorbacks successes this season and last for a reason. If I hear how Bama just hammered u sone more time, my head will pop. I thought I watched that game but must have been watching the wrong thing? Was the score 70 to nothing? People; the game I saw we have 3 bad breaks early and yes the wheels came off early on the road. One loss in the column to #2 team in the country, not one or two losses to Texas Tech, Baylor, USC, Iowa State.

It is appropriate on Thankgiving Holidays that we be thankful for CBP, McGee, & Willy as all coaches and players because they have done a helluva job. Win or lose I would welcome the opportunity to shake their hand and congratulate them for a job well done.

As far as this BCS ranking today. THEY HAVE NO CHOICE!!! It will be....

1. LSU
2. Bama
3. Arkansas
4. Who cares
5. Who cares even less

If we stay the course with focus on LSU and win the game, Hogs will move to #2. And if Bama should slip against Auburn, Hogs will move to #1. It just that simple folks. Do not be taken back as to what the talking heads are saying on TV, they have been wrong all year. In fact; if they started picking Hogs to win NC game, I would be nervous because the experts are never right. Listen to me, I am not an "Expert" but only a mere "Hog Authority" that frequently stays in a Holiday Inn Express :-)

WPS...#3 in the Coaches poll makes a Hog fan in DC smile. One more win and we might get another shot at Bama without even playing in the SEC Championship Game. There aren't many scenarios left were we don't play in a BCS Bowl game. It's proof the Hogs have done a great job this year. All the pundits can suck it...WPS!!!! Go Hogs!!

But I hope Auburn wins and I can't believe I'm going to say this but, War Eagle!!!

I don't see any scenario in which Auburn beats Alabama. I just don't think that is possible. I know that is a rivalry game and all, but just too much difference in experience and execution.

I THINK that if ark upsets LSU we SHOULD get to play for national title, but don't be surprised if we get screwed and bama ends up playing somebody less deserving. I hope that wouldn't happen, but if someone had told me before last year that the NCAA would suspend 5 players for the first 5 games of the following year but still let them play in the BCS bowl game I would have said that can't happen because it doesn't make any sense and wouldn't be fair to their opponent.

Anyway, I hope Tyler Wilson has a huge day Friday and we get to find out how this will play out. WPS!

We will need to win by more than 14 points or win and see Alabama lose to get to Atlanta. Our 24-point loss is still killing us. But we are a much better team today than we were back then. We have Jake, Tank, DJ, and Childs playing now and the O-Line has grown. Alabama peaked against us in week 4. We will peak against LSU.

StuckInIllinois,

If we win period by just 1 point, and Bama loses to Auburn we are in SEC Champ game and Atlanta.

If we win period and Bama wins, we will be in BCS title game in New Orleans. We have big lead over 3rd and 4th teams now so a win over LSU will do no worse than maintain that space. None of the human voters that have Hogs #3 now will dare drop hogs if they beat LSU.

We just need to win and that means we need scouting reports. Dafuture you are on deck, how will the hogs attack LSU?

DiversityMatters says...

HogAuthority, as requested...LSU defense is not better than Bama...how do to you beat speed? I remember when Petrino was OC at Jacksonville...how he beat the Colts fast defense was with play-action pass, screens, draws, boot-leg, naked boots and the biggest gains came on mis-directions plays...of course that involves the passing game...max protection was used with two receivers routes...those are effective...now with the tight end getting so much attention the past couple of games, he is going to make a big difference in the run/pass game...you have honor his ability to block and those little drops off will be big plays...but still to me, the king-maker will be Ronnie Wingo...the outside IS available and he's got to hit that lane quick, fast and in a hurry...if he can take a couple of licks and run with authority, Hawgs win big...now, the defense must play a five man front...they are gonna need some big bodies up front to keep the LBs clean...because LSU is gonna take Texas A&M play book and run those big backs all game...and with Jefferson back with play-action, he gonna make some noise also...but the Hawgs' offense and special teams will be very special this game...defense will bend but not break...and when they execute this game plan, Hawgs win 33 to 20...I've already scouted Georgia but need to see what Bama does against the other Tigers before I post...believe it or not, GA scares me more than LSU...

I had the TV on but did not actually watch LSU / Bama game. Of course I was watching Hogs & South Carolina. I tried to watch later on DVR but fell asleep.

My questions:

Does LSU have a take it the house type RB?

Why 5 man defensive front? They seemed to have gelled with that 4 man front? Maybe they just run blitz more? CONTAINMENT is what worry me the most with Jefferson on the field.

Did you notice how Adams and Hamilton were in the same place on Adams long TD pass against MSU? U R right they may only need 2 receivers but I think they will try to attack the middle of that LSU secondary. You have got to go for the heart and leave the head alone in this case.

U not suggesting naked bootlegs with Wilson? If so; R U OK with B. Mitchell in the BCS Title game?

The operative word is "FAST" CBP loves it. He wants everybody to play fast. LSU will be trying to take Wilson's neck off. He will need to read and make quick decisions. Like basketball when you pick up the dribble, shoot or pass don't think?

My man Wingo better not drop any more TD, I have had his back all season so I am ready for him to breakout. DJ will be tested because LSU may match his speed. But I see him getting a 100. DJ just need to hold the ball better. We can ill afford turnovers.

Hogs 28 LSU 17

November 21, 2011 at 1:32 p.m. ( | suggest removal )

DiversityMatters says...

HA...LSU have some big RBs that with a nice whole, can take it to the house...the reason for a five man front is that they know that our front four normally gives up big yards...add a fifth body and you keep the OLs off our LBs...this game is gonna be won by how the Hawgs stop the run...can't give up big chunks...on the naked boot, LSU does it all the time with great results...and they will do it against the Hawgs at least 10 times...it's a very effective weapon...plus, the Tigers aren't used to seeing a five man front from the Hawgs and it will take some time for them to adjust...but your man Wingo has a chance to make some big plays...everybody thinks that LSU is soooo fast, but if you look at the film, you'll see that because they rush up field so hard, there's a seem between the outside end and the boundary...it's there but you've got to hit it hard and fast...Wingo likes to run outside anyway and he'll have the sideline to keep him from getting those big hits...if this was Mallet, no way am I running this quarterback...but if we say that Wilson is a complete player, then he must be smart about sliding if nothing there...Andrew Luck runs naked boots at least two/three times a game...if nothing there, he does go down...just the threat will open up a protected boot as well as draws and reverses...and yes, the Hawgs will have to plan for more one or two receiver routes...if the line can give Wilson a few seconds, he'll hit one of them for sure...again, this is what Petrino did it on the professional level and it worked...

November 21, 2011 at 3:17 p.m. ( | suggest removal )

HogAuthority says...

LSUs offense is statistically about the same as Miss State. They are 99th in passing. We needs to have LB's keying the backs with the box filled. Make them throw.

I think your offensive strategy is on the money and I am sure CBP appreciates it :-) We have got to play fast and not get rattled like we did against Bama. Every FG & kick need to be played like it is a fake. We may not have many long drives but if we play good defense and keeping taking shots we will hit enough home runs to win.

We can't put the ball on the ground and Wilson can't afford any forced INTs.

November 21, 2011 at 8:12 p.m. ( | suggest removal )

TGRBAIT says...

Someone mentioned does LSU have a back that can take it to the house. They have 5.. There is no way LSU loses this game. Years past was deserving because LSU gave up the big play. This year LSU has more INT's than completed passer more than 20 yards. LSU will beat the hogs more than BAMA did. That is a fact..

HogAuthority says...

Tigger,

You failed to say how? I am assuming you are not some little old lady on a Sprint phone at a beauty salon on Airline Hwy in Baton Rouge? When we talk; taking it to the house, we are talking McFadden / Felix Jones caliber.

November 22, 2011 at 1:47 p.m. ( | suggest removal )

HogAuthority says...

Tigger,

When I think of LSU RB's; I think of Joseph Addai, I love him because I love the Colts; but the one thing he can't do is take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Hogs offense is averaging on the ground and in the air twice what LSU is giving up. So we will meet somewhere in between. Hogs get 24 - 28 points. LSU offense is #73 in the land actually worse than Miss State's. Hogs held MSU to 17 so give LSU 17. Factor in the us against the world (ESPN) mindset and the emotional loss of Garrett; Hogs will get the 28.

Hogs 28 LSU 17. It is not a fact; but I stay in a Holiday Inn Express; so you can pretty much take it to the Bank. You can confer with Piglet if you don't believe me :-)
