Arkansas, Texas A&M to resume Cowboys Stadium game in 2014
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/BENJAMIN KRAIN --10/1/11-- Texas A&M defensive back Steven Campbell forces a fumble from Arkansas wide receiver Cobi Hamilton near the end zone during the fourth quarter of the Southwest Classic at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The two schools will resume their rivalry in Dallas suburb in 2014.
FAYETTEVILLE The Razorbacks and the Aggies will resume their annual game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas during the 2014 football season.
The deal between the school is for 11 years and runs through the 2024 season. It nullifies a previous 10-year agreement between the schools that ran through 2018.
The former Southwest Conference rivals previously met three times at Cowboys Stadium from 2009-11, but the future of the series came into question when Texas A&M announced it would join the Southeastern Conference last fall.
While Arkansas officials publicly expressed their desire to keep the game in the Dallas suburb, Texas A&M officials asked for a two-year hiatus earlier this year - the Aggies' first in the SEC. The two schools will meet this season as division rivals in College Station, Texas and next season in Fayetteville.
Arkansas leads the all-time series against Texas A&M 41-24-3.
