Battle of the Border update

North Little Rock guard KeVaughn Allen (center), the nation’s No. 26 sophomore prospect by future150.com, created the biggest buzz after scoring 28 points in a variety of ways in the Charging Wildcats’ 74-42 victory over Memphis East. Allen has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Connecticut, Memphis, Baylor, Mississippi State and others.

Five teams from Central Arkansas took on five from the Memphis area in today's Battle of the Border at Little Rock Hall. Here's scores from four of the five games and other notes.

Arkansas coach Mike Anderson and asst. coach Melvin Watkins were in attendance.

3:00- Jacksonville 75 Olive Branch, Miss. 61.

2013 G Justin McCleary had 30 points, including two three-pointers for Jacksonville while G Sam Craft finished with 37 points and had six three-pointers for Olive Branch.

4:30- Little Rock Parkview 81 Memphis Hamilton 80

2016 F Dedric Lawson had 17 points and his brother 2015 F Keelon Lawson had 26 for Hamilton. Both attended Arkansas' summer camp in August.

Parkview 2014 PG Anton Beard, a Missouri comment had 28 points. Miss. St signee and PG I.J. Ready had 6 points before being ejected after being involved in a skirmish in the first half.

6:00- North Little Rock 74 Memphis East 42

2015 G KeVaughn Allen put on a show and finished with 29 points and four three-pointers for the Charging Wildcats. He had 20 at the half. 2013 F Thomas Alexander had 20 and also had four three-pointers.

Memphis signee Nick King scored 10 for Memphis East.

8:30- Memphis White Station 59 Little Rock Hall 53

White Station 2013 PG Chris Chiozza had 6 points, 2014 G Davell Roby 7, 2014 F LeRon Black 11.

Chiozza is seeing strong interest from Arkansas while Roby has an offer. Black is a Baylor commitment.

Hog signee Bobby Portis of Hall had 15 points and 12 rebounds.
