Arkansas commitment and offensive lineman Johnathan McClure of Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas has been named first team NJCAA All American. Click here for highlights
McClure, 6-4, 305 pounds was a second team junior college All American as a freshman. He plans to sign with the Hogs Dec. 19 and will report to Arkansas on Jan. 13.
Razorback Coach Bret Bielema and asst. coach Bobby Allen did an in-home visit with McClure on Sunday.
Thoughts from Butler offensive line coach Cody Oates from an earlier interview.
"Once he gets his hands on people he's really good at finishing people," Oates said. "He plays very violent in the game and he really gets after the opponent and really tries to impose his will upon the defense. That's something we think is very important and he really done a good job in buying into that."
Despite earning second team All American honors as a freshman, Oates said McClure, whose grandmother is from Huntsville, is a much improved player this season.
"In all honesty, his improvement from last year as a freshman All American to this year has been amazing," Oates said. "He's a lot more complete player than he was last year at this point. He really built in and grew up in the offseason this year and matured. He kind of realized there was a goal out in front of him."
