Spaight's hard work pays off

Junior college All American linebacker Martrell Spaight, 6-0 1/2, 220, 4.5 seconds in the 40 yard dash, graduated from North Little Rock high school in 2011 and enrolled at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas to pursue his dream to play major college football.

He received several scholarship offers and recently committed to Kansas State but received an offer from Arkansas Saturday night during an in-home visit from Hog Coach Bret Bielema and assistant coach Bobby Allen. He will announce his decision between the Razorbacks and the Wildcats around 9 to 10 a.m Wednesday.

Spaight's work ethic is second to none and that was no more evident than when his father, Mark received an alarming phone call from the Coffeyville head coach, said North Little Rock Coach Brad Bolding.

"He (Coffeyville coach) called about midnight and said 'Hey, we can't find your son', " Bolding said. "So he loaded up and was getting ready to leave about 30 minutes later and he got a call back and they said 'Well, we found Martrell. He was out working by the weight room in a sand pit'."
