Tuesday recruiting tidbits
Bret Bielema was announced as Arkansas’ new head football coach on Dec. 5.
It appears WR Lamar Jordan of Frisco, Texas will not be signing with Arkansas. He comitted to the Hogs in September. He tweeted that it looked like he would not be at Arkansas.
In a text message, he mentioned that Hog Coach Bret Bielema holding out on his scholarship offer.
Jordan tweeted that his high school coach received a call from Bielema saying Jordan doesn't fit their offensive scheme.
This is what we have after talking to Jordan. He said Bielema called his coach and told him Jordan's scholarship offer is on hold because he doesn't fit the offensive scheme Arkansas plans to run and they were looking at other prospects. Jordan said Bielema being a new coach is going to do things the way he sees fit. He seemed to take the news in stride.
He said the offers he has that interest him are New Mexico and Texas State but he plans to start sending out his highlight video and hopes to get other offers.
LB Martrell Spaight of Coffeyville C.C. said he will tweet his decision around 9 to 10 o'clock in the morning and then have the picture of him and the school's coach on his Facebook page and twitter account. He will be deciding between Arkansas and Kansas State, whom he's committed to last week.
JC LB Myke Tavarres said he will sign at 7 am Pacific time, 9 am Central time. He's not sure how he'll announce it. He said he's still torn right now and doesn't know if it's Arkansas or Boise State.
