Wednesday recruiting tidbits

OL Dan Skipper, 6-10, 295, 4.97 of Arvada, Colo. Ralston Valley said he had a good conversation with Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema and offensive line coach Sam Pittman on Christmas Eve. On the same day, he received 48 cards and letters from schools.

Skipper committed to Tennessee in Sept. with Pittman being his lead recruiter. He plans to make an official visit to Arkansas Jan. 11.

LB Antonio Longino, 6-3, 220, 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Hutchinson, (Kan.) Community College said Bielema will make an in-home with him on Jan. 11 in Cleveland. He made an official visit to Arkansas for the Rutgers game on Sept. 22. He has narrowed his list in no particular order to Arkansas, Auburn, Arizona State and Mississippi State.

2014 WR Brannon Barry, 6-4 1/2, 200, 4.54 of St. Charles, Ill. East is a name to watch for in the future. He's drawing interest from most of the Big Ten school, including Wisconsin. He said he and Razorback DC Chris Ash have talked on a regular basis while Ash was at Wisconsin. He has strong interest in Arkansas because his father side of the family has numerous Arkansas graduates. Barry's sister graduated from Arkansas in the spring. He loves the campus after visiting several times.

His 4.54 time in the 40 is laser timed.

RB Terrell Newby of West Hills,(Ca.) Chiminade high school said Arkansas RB Coach Joel Thomas left him a message on Facebook Christmas Day. He said he and Thomas have been getting to know one another since signing day in Feb and he could see himself playing for Thomas. His parents are also impressed with Thomas.

Newby has officially visited Nebraska and has a set Jan. 11 for a visit to UCLA. He said plans to talk to Thomas and hopes to set up an official visit to Fayetteville. He said Arkansas is definitely one of the visits he wants to take.

2015 OL Zach Rogers of Carrollton, Tx. Hebron will attend Arkansas' spring game. He has offers from Arkansas and Texas Tech.

OL Reeve Koehler, 6-3, 315, 5.2 seconds in the 40 dash of Honolulu, Hawaii, St. Louis high school. has set the Jan. 18-20 weekend to officially visit Arkansas. He's rated a 4-star recruit by Tom Lemming.

TE Bandon Vandenburg, 6-6, 260, 4.7 of College of the Desert in California. said while not 100%, he'll probably make an official visit to Arkansas Jan. 25 unless something comes up. Razorback OC-QB coach Jim Chaney is his lead recruiter. Click here for highlights
