Coffeyville Community College QB A.J. Derby has agreed to walk-on at Arkansas and compete for the starting job in the spring.

Derby, 6-5, 235, 4.7 signed with Iowa out of high school in 2010 and redshirted his freshman year before moving to linebacker in 2011. He transferred to Coffeyville in January and completed 149 of 321 passes for 1,936 yards and 22 touchdowns while having 14 interceptions.

He turned down an offer from Houston to play for the Hogs. He attended Arkansas' spring game as a recruit and believes he has a good shot at the starting position. He will have two years of eligibility.

Derby played in the U.S. Army All American after throwing for more than 1,800 yards and leading Iowa City to a state title as a senior. Click here for highlights
