Ward signs with Hogs

Jeremy Ward has officially signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks, bringing to fruition a commitment he made a year ago.
Ward, an offensive lineman at Pottsville High School, said he received interest from numerous other schools, but he always knew he wanted to be a Razorback.
"I told everybody else to basically back off," Ward said Wednesday. "I didn't say the words, but I told them by commitment was pretty strong."
Ward said being close to home factored into his decision, as did his lifelong support of the Hogs.
"This is the NFL for Arkansas," he said. "This is as good as it gets."
Ward said he will likely be redshirted as a freshman, but that coach Bobby Petrino asked him to prepare as though he was going to take the field. He said he intends to do that and expects success next year and beyond.
"Arkansas will be a national championship contender for the next few years," he said. "That's what I believe. So it's a good time to come in."
