As Bobby Petrino once said, "We are what we are". I can't see anything good coming out of all this debate. Being from Texas, I never understood why the state's university was not in Little Rock, closer to everybody. Oh well, I guess those ole timers way back in the 1800's didn't want to give up valuable land around Little Rock, so why not just give some land up in those mountains in Northwest Arkansas where nothing much but bears and squarrels lived at that time. It's too bad Governer Rockefeller wasn't successful in moving the University to Little Rock in the 50's. Boy, how that would have helped recruiting in Texas and LA! Oh, don't hate me if your from Northern Arkansas, I love driving up there each fall but I do wish Arkansas would have built I49 from Fort Smith to Texarkana. It would have made us feel a little more invited from down here in this neck of the woods. I know this is all just day dreaming about what might have been. How ever it turns out, prey far a great season next year. Nothing unites like winning. GO HOGS

I grew up going to all the games in Little Rock, around 45 years worth. Each time they took a game it was like tearing out part of my heart. Living up in NE ark. it's not cheap going to a game. Finally two years ago it just got to be more than I could justify paying for two games, esp. considering amount to the scholership fund! My opinion now - move them all, make the money to improve the team, I've already been broken. Still a rabid fan, just from afar.

Tex Hog, Rockefeller was Gov in late 60's. I travelled US 71 from Tex to FS since 70, and was just glad they took out some kinks, lucky it's paved, but I 49 would be nice...But I appreciate your efforts as a real fan!

I grew up near War Memorial, and found more ways in that stadium than a rat to a ship. Man great memories! I was mad at loosing the games ( I paid as I got older) but kinda agree with Hog Wild that it may be best financially to play in Fay. But, man, the traditions in LR are big!!

We are the only team in the SEC that plays home games at two (2) different stadiums. Alabama used to play in Birmingham, Ole Miss and Mississippi State used to play in Jackson and Tennessee used to play in Memphis. These programs realized as most of our fans now do that it is better to play all of your home games on campus. It will happen and fans that have issues will get over it.

I am from Eastern Arkansas. I always enjoyed the the You of A was NOT in Little Rock. If it were, I would have gone to school elsewhere. Fayetteville is a College town and some like it like that. I always thought that UT in Austin was too many distractions for the students. But that is not the point as that part will never change. Story is not the You of A pulling games, but the massive failures of leadership of War Memorial and Central Arkansas to take any kind of serious actions. To me; they are losing what they have earned, not what someone is taking from them.

Wally, I didn't know radio had been invented when you were a little boy.
War Memorial is a hellhole and should be bulldozed. All of Ark's games should be played in Fayetteville. If LR people don't like that, then they should have built a decent stadium to host a major college football game. It's embarrassing to play anyone at War Memorial. The seating sucks, concessions suck, bathroom facilities suck, parking sucks, and it holds about 25,000 less than Fayetteville. And Ark pays $75K rent to play there? In addition to taking a hit on attendance? Charlie Staggs saying they could add some more club seats at War Memorial is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Ah, there's nothing better than sitting in the stands and hearing the loud-speakers at good-ole War Memorial Stadium! There's no way you can sit there and say that red and white striped stadium didn't look glorious last September! There's no better place to beat LSU...

Cowboys not only moved out of Texas Stadium, they blew it up. Colts not only moved out of RCA Dome, they blew it up. Both new venues combined play more big time college games than we have in Fayettevile, let alone LR. My point, WMS is dump. Build something new thinking way above just the UA. Dallas calimed the Stadium was too expensive so where in the hell did the money come from to be the luxury model in Arlington. There are plenty billionaires & millionaires in Central Arkansas. To bad I am not one :-) because I would build the Hog Authority Center downtown LR on the river and bring UA, ASU, Memphis among other schools for 1 marquee game every year. BTW, I would also blow up WMS.

I'd like to see proof that Charles Staggs is asked "everyday" about WMS upgrades. Sure seems to be a social norm anymore that if you don't like the way things are going, perpetuate a lie and see what happens.
My guess is that this is EXACTLY what Mr. Staggs is doing. Well sir, time has for you to retire and disband your misfits, whups I meant commission.

Fans that have been driving to Little Rock games at War Memorial Stadium, only have just over 100 mile more drive up to Fayetteville...on wonderful I-40 and I-49...THAT'S EASY DRIVING, even if you drive up from Southern Arkansas.
Folks, drive up to the "home of the Razorbacks" which is Fayetteville.
What a marvelous campus stadium the Hogs have. End WMS games in LR in 2013 like the original contract directed. Then play all games in Fayetteville.
Drive up on the luxury of plush Interstate highways.
EXPERIENCE 75,000 HOGS FANS CHEERING ON OUR BOYS IN FAYETTEVILLE.

Move the hogs out of War Memorial and
ASU would quickly move games here to
fill the void. It wouldn't affect current
fans much, but the first generation that grows up with
that could very well be sporting Red Wolves gear.
I hope they get this fixed, 'cause the
Razorback games need to stay in central
Arkansas. Go Hogs...

we will never develop a national championship game until we get rid of the stress of having to go to little rock two times a year. this is stupid. so what if arkansas state picks up some momentum and wins more. maybe we could then play them once a year, which is what should have happened years ago.

As Walley said, "Yes, it is about money." History and traditon have to figure a way to be profitable for the University lest they fade away. I love the atmosphere at the Little Rock games. I have never heard a single player or coach of the Razorbacks say they didn't like playing in Little Rock. It is a special experience and worthy of preserving in my humble opinion. Our beloved Hogs have fought and clawed their way into the elite ranks of big time college football and I'm proud of their accomplishments. We all know it takes a lot of money to support a team at this level. The unfortunate side of this is that many loyal fans have had to give up their seats to the games because they simply can't afford them anymore. It's a heartbreaking decision when you give up something you love and have had for over a decade. Short of a miracle, I believe the games will be moved to Fayetteville. It's definitely the smart financial move for the University. The heart and soul of Razorback fandom sits in the end zones of War Memorial Stadium. It's a working man's venue that roars fear into the hearts of opponents and bleeds Razorback red. It's a shame future Razorbacks will not get to play in front of that bunch of rowdies! In the end, moving games to Fayetteville is part of the price of success for our program and I have every intention to support the Hogs until my last breath!

The bottom line is money. The fact is that tradition, sentiment, and attachment, all have a price. Profits come first. This is the way business works, sad, but true. If I had my way, Hog football would always have a place in LR.

LSU gets an official allotment of 7,500 tickets to War Memorial Stadium every 2 years (when they play in Arkansas). Yet, in their past 3 or 4 visits, there have been more than 10,000 - 15,000 Purple&Gold clad boudin eaters crowding the WMS bathroom lines and owning entire sections of seats. How does that happen, Central Arkansas Razorback fans? Who's scalping their tickets and then staying on the golf course, enjoying no lines at the port-o-potty and watching on the big flat screen in the back of the Silverado? Now, y'all want to complain about moving the LSU game to Fayetteville? It was becoming a neutral site game for LSU. I applaud Jeff Long for doing what should've been done a long time ago--make the LSU fans absorb that 2-night minimum in NWA hotels if they want to travel with their Tigers. We're a real SEC program now. I wouldn't worry about the fans from Texarkana or Eudora or Hardy not wanting to come see big time football in a real stadium. If a small golf course in the North End zone lot was part of the Fayetteville Athletic Complex expansion, this discussion would be over.

All the post that I read pro WMS are saying it is all about money over tardition, sentiment and etc; are simply wrong. Money is a by product of success. No one from Central Arkansas beat any drums to build a modern facility that could be successful. Rather they do nothing and expect the program to continue to play in that depreciated stadium without regard to to the 25,000 more fans that could be in the game in a facility that is on par with elite college venues. Of course no polayes or coaches complain about WMS. They had better not. It would piss me off too if they did all though I can say it is adump and no one will dispute me or say I am lying about it. "It is a dump, the hogs deserve better" Even Razorback Stadium has issues, that is why they are spending millions more to fix it up.
