Signing Day approaches

— National Signing Day is close at-hand, with schools and players around the state of Arkansas giving and receiving commitments to various schools both in and outside of the state.

Arkansas is in the mix for several recruits already across the nation, in addition to the 22 commitments it has already received. Those targets include Springfield (Mo.) Hillcrest wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, the consensus No. 1 recruit in the nation, who will choose between a host of offers, most notably Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama.

Early Monday morning, a report from the Tulsa World had Green-Beckham committing to Missouri, but CBSSports.com later released a story refuting that, citing Green-Beckham's coach and adopted father, John Beckham.

Several in-state players are expected to pledge their allegiance to the Hogs on Wednesday, including a pair of Jeremys — Pottsville offensive lineman Jeremy Ward and White Hall defensive end Jeremy Sprinkle — and Bearden athlete Defonta Lowe.

One recruit, junior college defensive end Austin Flynn out of Harbor (Calif.) College, is already enrolled.

Arkansas State is also expected to sign a solid class under first-year head coach and former Arkansas offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn. The class includes Auburn transfer and former Little Rock Christian running back Michael Dyer.

ArkansasOnline, NWAOnline and ARPreps.com will have footage of in-state recruits signing with the Hogs, as well as on-site coverage of Green-Beckham's signing.
