Harold Horton will retire from the Razorback Foundation at the end of July.
Horton, a former assistant coach at Arkansas and later head coach at Central Arkansas, has worked with the foundation for 15 years and served as executive director since 2008. Thanks to numerous fundraising initiatives, the foundation - a private fundraising arm for UA athletics - has recorded record growth over that time.
As part of R.S.V.P., a seating equity plan that rewards priority seating at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium based on donations to the athletics department, the foundation grew by 2,687 members in 2011.
With the increase in membership, the foundation is expected to bring in an estimated $18 million, annually.
Horton, 72, won two national championships at UCA and is a member of the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. He lettered for the Razorbacks from 1959-61 and his son, Tim, is an Arkansas assistant football coach.
