FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas linebacker Alonzo Highsmith will miss the Razorbacks’ spring practice with an injured pectoral muscle suffered on Tuesday.
Highsmith, a senior, started all 13 games for Arkansas last season, recording 80 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Highsmith also had a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown at LSU.
“I am extremely disappointed for Alonzo,” Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said in a release. “He had an impressive first year for us and I know he had high expectations for himself this spring.
"Alonzo has demonstrated he is a leader on our team and the coaching staff expects him to continue to be a strong part of building our defense.”
Highsmith was listed as one of Arkansas’ first-team linebackers on the pre-spring depth chart ahead of juniors Robert Atiga and Terrell Williams.
