Florida QB Driskel ruled out for Saturday

— No. 7 Florida will be without quarterback Jeff Driskel against lower-division Jacksonville State on Saturday.

Coach Will Muschamp ruled Driskel out Wednesday because of a sprained right ankle, saying Jacoby Brissett will start against the Gamecocks (6-4). It will be Brissett's third start in two seasons.

More importantly, Muschamp says he's unsure whether Driskel will be able to play when the Gators (9-1) travel to rival and 10th-ranked Florida State on Nov. 24.

Muschamp says "how much it'll improve into next week, I have no idea at this time. We feel like he'll be available, but who knows."

Muschamp also ruled out kick returner Andre Debose (knee), linebacker Neiron Ball (ankle) and safety De'Ante Saunders (knee). He says defensive back Valdez Showers is questionable with a shoulder injury.
