Day next top talent at NLR

11/16/12 Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/STEPHEN B. THORNTON North Little Rock's Juan Day breaks away from Cabot defenders to score a first half touchdown during their game Friday night in North Little Rock.

North Little Rock Coach Brad Bolding has coached highly regarded running back Altee Tenpenny, who?s committed to Alabama, the last three years and believes junior Juan Day is a SEC talent too.

Day, 6-1, 200, 4.5 seconds in the 40 yard dash, had 115 rushes for 930 yards and 13 touchdowns in nine games.

"He's unbelievable when he hits the hole," Bolding said. "He's taller than Altee. We're going to try to get his body to looking like Altee's. He has a really good lower body. He's got to get stronger. He's not the same speed but he is for that first twenty. He needs to work on his speed, flexibility and things like that."

The cousin of former Razorback running back Cedric Cobbs, Day has recorded a 275 pound power clean, 405 squat, 265 bench press, 4.19 pro-shuttle time and a 37-inch vertical.

"He's got the genes obviously with Cedric Cobbs," Bolding said. "He's a big, big body kid."

Arkansas recruiting coordinator and running back coach Tim Horton is expected to visit the school on Wednesday to check on Day and Tenpenny, who plans to make an official visit to Arkansas.
