Paul Petrino finalist for top job at Idaho
Paul Petrino, who just completed his third year as Arkansas' offensive coordinator, interviewed earlier this week for the head coaching vacancy at Idaho.
FAYETTEVILLE Arkansas offensive coordinator Paul Petrino interviewed for the vacant head coaching position at Idaho on Wednesday, a source in the coaching industry said.
Petrino interviewed in person with Idaho Athletic Director Rob Spear, who narrowed his search to five finalists over the weekend.
Former Idaho head coach Chris Tormey, who is the defensive coordinator at Wyoming, and San Jose State offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren also have been identified as finalists, according to the Idaho Statesman.
Petrino, 45, has previous experience at the school based in Moscow, Idaho, having served as an offensive assistant and special teams coach for the Vandals in 1992-1994 under John L. Smith. The stint was Petrino’s first outside his alma mater, NAIA Carroll College in Helena, Mont.
