Skipper seeing results from workouts

Offensive lineman Dan Skipper, an Arkansas signee, was inducted into his school's Hall of Fame.

Arkansas signee and offensive lineman Dan Skipper, who will arrive in Fayetteville tonight for a two day visit, is seeing results from the Hogs' workout book.

"I'm doing that was well as a personal training with a with a guy that specializes in combine prep," Skipper said. "So I'm lifting six days a week along with a lot of agility work on the side. I'm really starting to see myself fill out which is the biggest thing I felt like I was lacking. Mostly upper body stuff."

Skipper, 6-10, 305, 4.97 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Arvada, (Colo.) Ralston Valley was one of the more highly recruited offensive line prospects in the nation when he signed with the Hogs over Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State and Ole Miss. He recently weighed in at 305 pounds.

"I feel like I have trimmed down body fat," Skipper said. "I measured at 19 percent so I'm just a leaner and starting to put on some noticeable size. "

The visit to Arkansas will be a way for him to get things in place before he reports to Fayetteville in about two months.

"I'm just making sure everything is ready to go," Skipper said. "And there's not going to be a fleet of last minute problems or rushes or things that were unexpected so we trouble shoot and make it an easy transition for me."

He graduates on May 25 will finish up his high school baseball career on May 27.

"After that, I'll probably be down there as soon as they want me." Skipper said.

He and offensive line coach Sam Pittman talk on a regular basis.

"I call him about once a week and we talk," Skipper said. "Just catch up on the week."
