Bama offer unlikely to sway Jackson

Alabama offered a scholarship to El Dorado defensive lineman Bijhon Jackson, who's committed to Arkansas, Thursday afternoon but the dominating lineman doesn't see a change of heart in the future.

"It's exciting to get an offer from the number one team in the country," Jackson said. "It makes me want to work even harder just being recognize as a top talent. I talked to coach (Nick) Saban. I really don't know how I feel about it though. I'm a Hog so I highly doubt that I would change my mind but I'll probably go to a camp or something this summer."

Jackson, 6-2, 325, 5.1 seconds in the 40 yard dash, was named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All Arkansas team after recording 67 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss and 6 sacks last year. He was also a member of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Super Sophomore team.

He said he and Hog defensive line coach Charlie Partridge traded direct messages on Twitter earlier tonight.

"He told me the D-line did real well in practice today," Jackson said. "I told him I couldn't wait to get up there in a couple of weeks. I told him he didn't really have anything to worry about with me."

Jackson set a state record in the power clean with a lift of 335 pounds at the state weightlifting meet in Russellville over the weekend. He said he'll allow Alabama to recruit him.

"I'm going to talk to them and let them recruit just because they're on such a high level," Jackson said. "I doubt they'll persuade me to change my mind."

What would it take for the Crimson Tide to change his mind?

"I don't think they could change my mind," Jackson said. "I would be surprised if they could persuade me to change my mind I think the only thing if like if Arkansas gets in trouble... giving out some illegal money or something like that. Other than that I don't think they can do anything to change my mind."

Alabama has an uphill road to lure Jackson away from the Hogs.

"I'm just a Hog," he said. "I don't want to be anywhere else. I want to stay here in Arkansas."
