Wednesday recruiting tidbits

One of Texas' top prospects, offensive lineman Jovan Pruitt, 6-6, 290 pounds, 5.2 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Dallas Bishop Dunne High School said he should know Thursday if he's attending Arkansas' spring game.

Pruitt, who has more than 10 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Oklahoma, has added about 15 pounds over the last month or so. He weighed 340 at one time but slimmed down to 275 before adding the additional weight.

Running back Juan Day of North Little Rock will attend the spring game.

6:00 update

Running back Johnathan Thomas, 5-11, 205, 4.47 of Danvers, (Mass.) St. John's Prep said he received a scholarship offer from Arkansas on Tuesday. He said Arkansas isn't a regular school, it's a SEC school and that's big-time football. He said he's been talking to running backs coach Joel Thomas for about a month.

Thomas has five other offers from Maryland, UMass, Connecticut, Boston College and Holy Cross. He plans to talk to his parents and hopes to visit the Razorbacks soon. Video highlights click here

7:20 update

Offensive lineman Bill Weber, 6-5, 310, 5.6 of Coppell, Texas will attend Arkansas' spring game. He's also drawing strong interest from Missouri, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech and North Texas.

He said he and running backs coach Joel Thomas started communicating with each other shortly after the Dallas Nike Camp.

He and defensive end Solomon Thomas have played football together since the fifth grade. Weber said he and Thomas are like brothers and their dream is to attend the same school and be roommates.

His uncle, Robin Weber played tight end for Notre Dame and caught the winning touchdown reception in the 1973 Sugar Bowl to win the national championship. Video highlights click here
