Jackson is officially a Razorback

Paragould's Sarah Dicus and Jacksonville MVP Jessica Jackson fight for a ball in the Class 5A State Championship game on March 8, 2013 at Barton Colliseum in Little Rock.

Jacksonville guard-forward Jessica Jackson signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Arkansas about 9:45 a.m. today.

Jackson, 6-3 forward is rated the No. 7 recruit in the nation in the Class of 2013 by Dan Olson's Collegiate Girl's Basketball Report. She averaged 22 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks this past season while leading the Red Devils to a 26-4 record and the Class 5A state title.

In a statement from the University, Coach Tom Collen said Jackson has a chance to help the Hogs make a strong run in several NCAA tournaments.

“The last time an in-state player of her caliber stayed home was Shameka Christon, and Arkansas was in the NCAA Tournament three consecutive years. Jess has the ability to have the same type of impact and more,” Collen said.
