Sunday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas impressed several of the top recruits during Saturday's Red-White game.

Safety Davion Hall, 6-3, 194, 4.5 of Texarkana, Texas Liberty-Eylau said the estimated crowd of 51,088 surprised him and commented the fans were one of the highlights of his trip. He said he has never signed autographs but did about 30 autographs on Saturday. He spoke highly of receivers coach Michael Smith and tight ends coach Barry Lunney. Jr. He said his top four schools in order are Baylor, Alabama,Arkansas and Texas A&M. All but Alabama have offered.

Safety Kirk Tucker, 6-2, 187, 4.5 of Tucker, Ga. said he expected to see open space and Arkansas to be country like but was very impressed with what he saw. He said he and his parents were talking about the large crowd Saturday evening after the visit. Very impressed with the fans. The facilities also impressed him.

Tucker said cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson has been recruiting him hard. He appreciated Johnson taking the time to talk to him and his parents for about an hour after everyone had left. He knew Johnson had a long day and had a family to go home to. He may come out for a summer camp. He said his top five in order would be Stanford, North Carolina, Arkansas, North Carolina State and Louisville.

Sophomore offensive lineman Zach Rogers, 6-3, 294, 5.06 of Carrollton, Texas, Hebron said his visit was a huge help for Arkansas' chances to get him. He feels more comfortable with the Hogs after the visit and said Arkansas feels like home. His parents were born in Oklahoma and he grew up cheering for the Sooners but said they're the same as the other schools he's considering. He and his parents drove back to the Broyles complex and spent about 20 minutes with Coach Bret Bielema in his office.

Cornerback Chris Murphy, 5-10, 180, 4.4 of Marietta, Ga. said he didn't expect much from Arkansas before his visit to Fayetteville but that all changed after his visit. He said the facilities were very nice. That was one of his biggest surprises. He said he didn't expect Arkansas having the type of turnout for the spring game. He said he's seriously considering the Hogs now.

Arkansas commitment and defensive lineman Bijhon Jackson of El Dorado said he doesn't see himself being anywhere but Arkansas after Saturday's visit. He said the 50,000 plus fans at the game really surprised him. The fans recognizing him and encouraging him to be a Hog made him feel real good. He said he was surprised fans knew about him since he's about 5 hours away from Fayetteville. He said he probably won't visit Alabama. He mentioned visiting the Tide after a recent offer.

Sophomore tight end Will Gragg of Pine Bluff also mentioned the Arkansas fan base and how impressed he was with the crowd at the spring game. He said the visit was A plus.

Gragg said he's very comfortable with the new coaches especially tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. He has slimmed down and is much leaner than he was in the fall. He credited coach Bobby Bolding's off-season workouts for his progress. He plans to visit Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU and others but added the atmosphere at the game makes it hard to stay calm and keeping his options open.

Offensive lineman Bill Weber, 6-5, 310 of Coppell, Texas said he was impressed with the offensive line play and how prepared they were for a spring game. He said the fans were very knowledgeable about him and his teammate-defensive end Solomon Thomas. He said some of the fans were more interested in the recruits than the actual game.

Weber, who's drawing interest from Arkansas, Texas Tech, Missouri and others, plans to attend one of Arkansas' camps this summer. He said Thomas enjoyed the trip too.

Little Rock Central running back Logan Moragne reported on Twitter that he was the overall MVP National Underclassmen Five-Star combine in Duncanville, Texas. He placed fifth out of 270 athletes in the SPARQ rating at theNike Camp in Memphis last weekend.

9:15 update

Springdale Har-Ber defensive lineman Josh Frazier enjoyed hanging out with cornerback Kavin Alexander, running back Juan Day of North Little Rock and Bijhon. He said he spoke briefly to defensive end Solomon Thomas. He said he signed about 20 autographs.

He'll release his top five or six on May 23. He said his mom likes Arkansas and Texas A&M but is supportive of wherever he goes.
