Monday recruiting tidbits

All purpose back Sione Palelei, 5-10, 197, 4.35 seconds on the 40 yard dash, of Gonzales, (La.) East Ascension said he was tempted to commit to Arkansas while on his visit over the weekend. He said he and his family will return to Fayetteville in early July and he could pledge then.

He loved how running backs coach Joel Thomas told him how the Hogs would use his talents. He said most coaches aren't as detailed. Palelei, who has other scholarship offers from Brigham Young, Utah, Southern Miss, Hawaii and others, said Arkansas is his clear number one.

Point guard Jerome Seagears, who's transferring from Rutgers, indicated on Twitter tonight he's visiting Arkansas this weekend.

Defensive end Andrew Williams, 6-4 1/2, 247, 4.8 of McDonough, (Ga.) Eagle's Landing Christian said Arkansas became his 45th offer today. He plans to visit the Hogs after hearing good things about from his friend and Suwanee, Ga. defensive end Dante Swayer, who's also being recruited by Arkansas.

The father of defensive end Isaac Rochell, a teammate this past season, is a huge Razorback fan and has also talked positive about the Hogs. Video highlights click here

Quarterback Jabe Burgess of Greenwood said the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from Oklahoma State will be at his school on Friday to watch him throw. Arkansas State will be at his school on Thursday. He said he's been talking to Arkansas offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jim Chaney and has been asked to go up to Fayetteville in a few weeks so they could talk. Safety Nick Glass of Suwanee, (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge said he received 38 handwritten letters from Arkansas over the weekend. Video highlights click here

Sophomore athlete Avery Johnson of Highland high jumped 6-3 and will now go to the state meet. Video highlights click here

2015 running back DJ Brown of Little Rock Catholic was named MVP of the running backs at the NUC combine in Dallas on Sunday. Arkansas visited Catholic a week ago to check on him and tight end Aaron Hamaker. Video highlights click here
