Sophomore offensive lineman Zach Rogers visited the Arkansas campus for the first time for the Hogs' Red-White game last year and has been a regular ever since.
He made his seventh trip to Fayetteville on Saturday for the spring game.
Rogers, 6-3, 295, 5.06 seconds in the 40 yard dash of Carrollton, Texas, Hebron earned his first scholarship offer from Arkansas after being the best performer among the offensive linemen at the Hogs' July camp. He has other scholarship offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Baylor and UCLA. The latest visit didn't disappoint him.
"It was awesome coming up here," said Rogers, who visited the Hogs on March 9th. "I definitely enjoyed it. I think this weekend even better than the last time I came. I got more time to talk to them and got to watch the game. It was definitely a lot of fun. "
Rogers has above average strength even as a sophomore with a 355 pound bench press and 470 squat. He accomplished a rare feat by starting as a 14 year old freshman in the highest classification in Texas which started his path of being one of the more highly recruited offensive linemen in his class.
The 51,088 fans in attendance wowed Rogers.
"They support the team," Roger said."It was an awesome atmosphere on Saturday."
With his parents growing up in Oklahoma , Rogers has cheered on the Sooners since his youth but said they're no different from the other schools pursuing him.
"That was a school we grew up rooting for because they were from there," Rogers said. "But now and being in this situation that's not something that's really going to make them the school to beat or anything. They're in the boat as anyone else. "
Before leaving Sunday morning, Rogers headed back to the Broyles Complex and met with Coach Bret Bielema for about 20 minutes.
"They just want to make sure I know they want me up here and we talked about me trying to graduate early," said Rogers, who was accompanied by his parents, grandmother and girlfriend on the trip. "He thinks that's a great deal . We talked about that a lot."
