Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas recently offered a scholarship to running back Johnathan Thomas.

Running back Johnathan Thomas, 5-11, 205, 4.47 of Danvers, (Mass.) St. John's Prep said he'll arrive in Fayetteville Sunday night to visit the Hogs. He received an offer from Arkansas on April 16.

Thomas also has offers from Maryland, UMass, Connecticut, Boston College and Holy Cross. Video highlights click here

Quarterback David Cornwell, who received an offer from Arkansas after offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Jim Chaney watched him throw on Thursday, said he doesn't believe there's another person on earth like Chaney because of his knowledge and sense of humor. Really enjoys talking to him.

Cornwell, 6-5, 235 of Norman, (Okla.) North was selected to be in the Elite 11 finals after his performance at the Elite 11 regional competition in Dallas a few weeks ago. His offer from the Hogs puts his total offers around 17. He said he's going to try to visit Arkansas in May.

Arkansas quarterback commitment Rafe Peavey, 6-2, 197, 4.5 of Bolivar, Mo. will compete in the Chicago Elite 11 event on Friday.

Camden Fairview receiver Deion Holliman, 5-8, 170, 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash, power cleaned 320 pounds recently and also scored a 23 on his ACT.

Shiloh Christian kicker Seung Jae Lee will walk-on at Arkansas. He was 7 of 11 last year with a long of 42 yards. He had an offer from Central Arkansas and several other small schools.

As reported earlier, running back Johnathan Thomas will arrive in Fayetteville on Sunday to visit Arkansas. He said his father will accompany him on the visit. They plan to leave Monday night.

His father works for the Massachusetts State Police and helps provide security for the governor. He said his father really likes running backs coach Joel Thomas and when he father likes a coach it makes the school even better.

Thomas said there's a possibility he could commit while on his visit but isn't sure if he would make a pledge right away.

Offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor, 6-5 1/2, 315 pounds of Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna Community College said Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman liked what he saw at practice on Monday.

He said he called Pittman later and they talked for about an hour and was told Pittman could help him in some areas, including pass blocking. Pittman told him he liked his quick feet on tape but his feet were quicker in person and joked he could play fullback.

Safety Steven Parker, 6-3, 190 of Jenks, Oklahoma said he received an offer from Arkansas about two weeks ago and now has more than 20. He said he plans to visit the Hogs soon.

Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas attended Carrollton, (Texas) Hebron High School's spring practice today to watch 2015 offensive lineman Zach Rogers, defensive end Daniel Wise and safety Jamal Adams.

Offensive lineman Bill Weber, 6-5, 310 of Coppell, Texas said Hog defensive line coach Charlie Partridge has been by the school. Highly recruited defensive end Solomon Thomas also attends the school.
