Hall back to the Hill

Defensive end Jake Hall of Springdale Har-Ber received a scholarship offer from Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema Wednesday night.

When Springdale Har-Ber defensive end Jake Hall arrives at Arkansas at 2:30 today, it will be his second trip to the campus in almost a week.

Hall, 6-5, 230 pounds visited the Hogs last Friday and was told the Razorbacks liked what they saw of him at the June Prospect Camp and would monitor him the first few games of the season.

He’s one of the top senior prospects with a solid chance of earning an offer from the Hogs.

“It would be pretty exciting to get a big time offer like that ,” said Hall, who has scholarship offers from Cincinnati and Louisiana -Monroe.

Hall, who recorded 50 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 4 quarterback hurries and 3 forced fumbles for the Wildcats as a junior, played last season at 250 pounds but has slimmed down with CrossFit, a strength and conditioning program.

“I’ve really changed my body,” Hall said “I don’t have very much fat at all. I’m mostly muscle. I can move a lot better and I feel good around 230.”

He said he has communicated with tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge on a regular basis by direct message on Twitter. Hall spoke to Coach Bret Bielema for about 15 minutes before Friday’s practice.

“It was really awesome talking to him,” Hall said. “It’s crazy how much he knows. I like going to practice because I can learn a lot.”
