Partridge's style has DE ready for visit

Defensive end Kevin Bronson plans to officially visit the Hogs.

Arkansas defensive line coach Charlie Partridge has defensive end Kevin Bronson highly interested in Arkansas and planning an official visit.

“He’s shown me a lot of love,” Bronson said. “He’s a straightforward guy. I just like him.”

Bronson, 6-3, 245, 4.77 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Delray Beach, (Fla.) Village Academy lists Arkansas, Miami, South Florida, Central Florida and Rutgers as his top schools out of about 21 scholarship offers. Honesty during the recruiting process is a must for him.

“It’s very important because as you get into the recruiting process you want to build a great relationship coaches and you want them to be honest with you,” Bronson said. “You don’t want them to pull your leg or anything that’s not true.”

Village Academy Coach Donald Hanna said Bronson is joy to coach.

“Hard worker, a very respectful kid,” Hanna said. “An idea kid that you would want in your program. Works hard and listens and doesn’t get into any trouble. He’s really a dedicated young man that really wants to improve his craft and is constantly trying to get better.”

He and Partridge have talked about dates for a visit.

“During my bye week, he wanted me to come up,” Bronson said. “But I already have something else planned so we’re still trying to work something out.

Bronson, who’s said he’s considering sports management as a possible major, is looking for a good atmosphere along with a rabid fan base.

“The family bond, the atmosphere,” Bronson said. “How I interact with the teammates? Do they show me love? The atmosphere on game day, are the fans very supportive.”

While Bronson has the size and speed to make some think he could play linebacker, Hanna said his future is on the line.

“I could possibly seeing him getting up to another 30 to 40 pounds,” Hanna said. “I’m trying to figure out if he’ll be a defensive tackle or a defensive end but he’s definitely going to be a defensive lineman at the next level.”
