Top 2015 prospect commits to Hogs

Lisa, Hjalte and Hans Froholdt enjoyed their time in Fayetteville during an unofficial visit in October of 2013.

Highly recruited defensive end Hjalte Froholdt has committed to Arkansas.

Froholdt, 6-5, 275 pounds, played his sophomore year at Warren (Ohio) Harding High School as an exchanged student from Denmark. He returned home for his junior year and plans to return to the United State for his senior season. ESPN rates him the No. 42 prospect in the nation for the 2015 class.

Froholdt said he was told he had to follow his heart and he said on the second visit to Arkansas for the South Carolina game he had the feeling that Arkansas could make him a better person and bring the best out of him. He said he felt like committing to the Hogs right after the visit.

He said when he and his parents were leaving from their visit he had a big smile on his face and pretty knew it was going to be Arkansas.

He called Coach Bret Bielema on Sunday and told him the news and he said Bielema's first words were "that's awesome" and laughed. Bielema told him he wouldn't regret committing.

Froholdt said they compared the schools and Arkansas always came out first in everything.

When he got back home to Denmark and told himself he wanted to commit to Arkansas and kept it to himself and woke up everyday thinking Arkansas was where he wanted to go.

His mother, Lisa said the first day of their the visit was so well planned that it "hit the bull's eye". Loved the people.
