Tuesday afternoon recruiting tidbits

Defensive lineman Craig Evans of Sun Prairie, Wis. is a prospect the Hogs hope to land in the 2014 class.

Defensive lineman Craig Evans, 6-3, 300, 5.0 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin tweeted his top three schools in no order were Wisconsin, Michigan State and Arkansas.

Evans is rated the No. 56 prospect in the nation by Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network. He's a Badger commitment.

Evans officially visited the Hogs for the Southern Miss game.

Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema and cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson did an in-home visit with cornerback commitment Chris Murphy this morning.

Murphy, 5-10, 180, 4.4 Marietta, (Ga.) Lassiter signed an Arkansas athletic financial aid agreement on Nov. 21 and is expected to enroll in January. He said the visit went really well.

Defensive lineman Edgar Cerenord, 6-1 1/2, 290, 5.2 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Plantation, (Fla.) American Heritage is still very interested in Arkansas. He said he has talked to defensive line coach Charlie Partridge but not recently.

He said he's focused on his season. Wake Forest, Duke, Tulane and Purdue are schools recruiting him the hardest. He has an offer from the Hogs.

Arkansas defensive line commitment Bijhon Jackson had 4 unassisted tackles, an assisted tackles, a tackle for loss and 3 pass breakups in last week's game.

Word is Arkansas defensive coordinator Chris Ash visited the school today of a top defensive prospect who plans to make an official visit to Fayetteville. The recruit is committed elsewhere.
