Friday recruiting tidbits

Sam Pittman, Arkansas' offensive line coach, communicates with coaches in the press box on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 during the game against Louisiana-Lafayette at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

The inclement weather appears to have forced another official visitor to cancel.

Brain Wallace Sr. said in a text message that it looks like they'll have to cancel this weekend's trip because of road conditions in the St. Louis area. Wallace Jr., an offensive lineman from St. Louis Christian Brothers has plans to visit Alabama next weekend. Will update as soon as possible.

St. Louis Christian Brothers defensive lineman Armon Watts is scheduled to fly in at 10:19 am today.

Another prospect is also supposed to fly in today.

Arkansas has offered Mississippi junior linebacker Leo Lewis, 6-3, 220, 4.65 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Brookhaven High School. He also reports offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oregon State, LSU and Tennessee.

He recorded 100 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 7 quarterback hurries an interception and blocked field goal this season.

Arkansas tight end coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited Conway High School on Wednesday to check on 2015 offensive line commitment Colton Jackson and other possible prospects.

11:02 update

Defensive line commitment Armon Watts has arrived for his official visit.

12:13 update

Hearing the fourth prospect that was expected to visit won't make it. Apparently the airport has had several flights delayed or cancelled and this might be the reason. Trying to confirm.

8:52 update

It's confirmed the fourth prospect didn't make the trip.

Hearing from multiple sources that safety C.J. Hampton is having an excellent visit. Enough to land him? Can't say but the visit has helped the Hogs.

9:14 update

Arkansas receiver commitment Jared Cornelius of Shreveport Evangel did not visit TCU this weekend.

10:27 update

Brian Wallace Sr., the father of highly recruited offensive lineman Brian Wallace Jr., said the family will attempt to travel to Fayetteville tomorrow for the start of an official visit. The four-star prospect is a major target for the Hogs in the 2014 class. Wallace Sr. is determined to make it happen.
